The Branciforte Posts are a small group of freestanding sculptures built in the early 2000s, the open-air counterpart to Salvatore Pecoraro’s wall-mounted Branciforte Constructs. Each rises eight to nine feet from a narrow footprint, stacking travertine, marble, slate, cast stone, glass, and copper tubing into slender vertical columns. Made to weather and to be seen in the round, the posts translate the layered geometry of Pecoraro’s interior work into forms that answer to daylight, weather, and the landscape standing around them.
